Sins of my skin

File photo

They’ve been here from the beginning
Like moles they kept digging in
That evil may reign,
They reached into the depths of my brain
With each bite, they rid it of its good
With each bite, they blacken my mood

They’ve been here from the beginning
Like maidens in waiting,
For long they waited in patience
All the while stalking my conscience
Of the good in me is left none
Their sinful mission, a job well done
I’m merely a body,
Driven by remains of my past
Consumed by sins of my skin
